Mobile Mechanic
As a Mobile Mechanic for Georgia Roadside, you will respond to service requests by performing a range of mechanical repairs on vehicles at customer locations. You will troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical issues, ensuring vehicles are road-ready after your service.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform a wide range of vehicle repairs, including starter replacements, alternator replacements, brake replacements, minor engine repairs, battery replacements, fluid checks, oil changes, and other general mechanical repairs.
Diagnose vehicle issues using diagnostic tools and mobile apps, ensuring the correct repairs are made.
Respond to service requests in a timely manner and work independently at various locations.
Ensure customer satisfaction through effective communication and professionalism.
Accurately log all services performed, keeping personal records of parts used and invoicing customers.
Provide estimates for repairs when necessary, based on labor and parts.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
2+ years of professional automotive repair experience.
ASE certification or other Professional Automotive Training preferred but not required.
Experience in mobile or field mechanic services is a plus.
Required Abilities and Skills:
Strong mechanical aptitude with general knowledge in automotive repair, including but not limited to starter and alternator replacements, brake systems, suspension, engine troubleshooting, and electrical systems.
Must be proficient in using diagnostic tools and mobile apps for vehicle diagnostics.
Must have a working smartphone and basic knowledge of GPS tracking, navigation, and communication apps.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent customer service skills, ensuring a positive client experience during every service call.
Driver Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have a valid driver's license with a clean MVR.
Must pass a criminal background check.
Must have a reliable vehicle with space to transport tools and equipment.
Compensation and Benefits: This is a commission-based, on-call contract position. Commission rates vary based on the service provided, including standard and specialized mechanical repairs, mileage, and emergency repairs. Incentive packages are available based on performance, availability, and customer feedback.
